OpenAI Integration

To unlock the power of the AI Studio, you will need to integrate Tutor LMS with your OpenAI account. This integration allows you to tap into OpenAI’s advanced language model for a truly enhanced course creation experience.

Integrating with OpenAI for AI Studio Features

Tutor LMS harnesses the power of OpenAI’s advanced language model to provide innovative AI features. 

📝 Note: You need an OpenAI account with a topped-up balance to use the API. A ChatGPT subscription (e.g., ChatGPT Plus) is not required to generate an API key for Tutor LMS integration. Each request you make to the AI will incur a usage cost based on your OpenAI API balance.

How to Enable OpenAI Integration

Step 1: Sign Up or Log In to OpenAI

• Visit OpenAI’s platform at https://platform.openai.com.
• If you don’t have an account, click on “Sign Up” and follow the instructions to create one.
• If you already have an account, click on “Log In” and enter your credentials.

Step 2: Purchase OpenAI Credits

Once logged in, navigate to the Billing section:

• Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner.
• Select “Manage Account”/”Your Profile.”
• Go to “Billing” from the left-hand menu.

Set up a payment method if you haven’t done so:

• Click on “Payment Methods” and enter your card details.

Purchase credits:

• In the Usage Limits or Payment Plans section, choose the desired credit amount.
• Confirm the payment to add credits to your account.

Set a Usage Limit (Optional)

• Once you add a payment method, you can set usage limits. Go to the Usage limits page and set a spending limit to avoid any surprises.

Step 3: Generate an API Key

Go to the “API Keys” section:

• From the OpenAI dashboard, click on API Keys in the left-hand menu.

Generate a new key:

• Click “+ Create New Secret Key.”
• Copy the generated key immediately and store it securely. (You won’t be able to view it again.)

📝 Note: Treat this API key like a password. Do not share it publicly.

Step 4: Connect Tutor LMS to OpenAI

• In your WordPress dashboard, go to “Tutor LMS > Settings > Advanced.”
• Locate the “AI Studio” section.
• Toggle the “Enable” option to “On.”
• Paste your OpenAI API key into the “Insert OpenAI API key” field.

• Click the “Save Changes” button to finalize.

Now you’re ready to leverage the power of AI to generate course outlines, quizzes, titles, descriptions, and more!
